Lockdown Blues

Who else is fed up with lockdown and Coronavirus?

I for one, am absolutely exhausted of the monotony and the unnatural amount of time spent with one group of people (mainly the little people in our house as Joe is still working). For the sake of those who do not know me prersoanlly, I will point out that I do love my kids, of course I do and they're very cute! But none of us are 100% happy with this situation!

I know I can't really complain; I'm not a nurse, a teacher or a shop worker, I don't put my life at an unnecessary risk, and we are all fit and healthy here. I am also lucky enough to not know anyone who has been adversely affected by this awful disease,

Or, to play devil's advocate, am I allowed to complain and vent? After all I am only human and my life has been turned upside down.

I used to go out to work and have a 'break' from the kids, I used to be confident my children were receiving the best education possible, I used to be able to go out whenever I wanted and not feel like a prisoner under house arrest! This virus has affected us all, and it is too plain to see on social media the negative effects it is having on people. To those people who are struggling, I just want to let you know that you are not alone, and although we are in the same storm, each one of us has our own boat to sail to safety,

My boat is made mainly of wood, painted creatively in bright colours to remind me of sunnier days. I've been bobbing around in furniture for nearly a year now!

What is your boat, and if you don't have one, can you build it? I have friends who bake, friends who write, friends who study, friends who run, friends starting new businesses, friends who manage to get out of bed in the morning, friends who clean, friends who homeschool, and they use these crutches to lean on during difficult times. But remember, we can lean on each other (socially distanced of course!).

Ladies and Gents, it's time to get boat building! I'm off to paint some more furniture and get to my happy space!

What will your boat look like?
